2011 Earthquake

In the early hours of December 28, 2011, an earthquake shook Tuva.   The epicentre is reported to be 100 km east of Kyzyl at a depth of 10 km.  The magnitude was reported with several values ranging from 4.7 to 9 but there was no reported injury or loss of life.

Some aftershocks were reported, but overall this seems to have been about as harmless as a major earthquake can be.
