Welcome to Feynman Online!

This web site is dedicated to Richard P. Feynman (1918-1988), scientist, teacher, raconteur, and musician.  He assisted in the development of the atomic bomb, expanded the understanding of quantum electrodynamics, translated Mayan hieroglyphics, and cut to the heart of the Challenger disaster.  But beyond all of that, Richard Feynman was a unique and multi-faceted individual.

Feel free to explore this site to find out about Feynman, what he was and why he remains one of the most celebrated and revered scientists of modern times.

November, 2011: Here is the first in a series of videos intended to promote scientific education and literacy, featuring the thoughts of Richard Feynman accompanied by music and moving images.  We didn't create this, we found it on Youtube.

August, 2011: Jim Ottaviani and Leland Myrick's new comic "Feynman" will be published by Roaring Brook/First Second.  Publisher's Weekly ran a short review that concludes as follows:

Myrick’s light, sketchy inks keep the proceedings from bogging down, even in the lecture hall, and an extensive bibliography and sketchbook prove that the most dogged intellectual pursuit can still be a good time.

As fans of Ottaviani's previous work (e.g. Two Fisted Science), Feynman.com is looking forward to this release.

January 14, 2011: Caltech hosted a TEDX event titled "Feynman's Vision: The Next 50 Years".  Check it all out at their WWW site!  Larry Wilson at the Pasadena Star-News provides a short review of the conference titled "Feynman, a wizard and true star at TEDx".  (why is the article named for a Todd Rundgren album?  Good question!)

Ongoing: Rob Lockhart of NYU is looking to contact former SEDs (Special Engineer Detachment) who worked under Feynman at Los Alamos.  If you were one or can identify one, drop us a line (see the Contact Information link to the left).
